Colorado State Senate Commends Tri-State for juwi-Developed Spanish Peaks Solar Project

The members of the Colorado Senate extended their congratulations to not-for-profit Tri-State in recognition of the announcement of the 100-megawatt Spanish Peaks Solar Project. The commendation was put forward by Colorado State Senate President Leroy Garcia and highlights Tri-State’s investment in Southern Colorado with this utility-scale project. The commendation also mentioned that the project will benefit Tri-State members with its favorable pricing and economies of scale.

The Spanish Peaks Solar Project is Tri-State’s second utility-scale solar energy project collaboration with juwi Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Germany-based renewable energy company juwi AG.  juwi developed the project and will provide EPC and O&M services for the project which is planned to be completed in 2023 with 300,000 solar panels on 660 acres and will serve the energy needs of 28,000 rural homes.

The Colorado Senate Convened in the First Regular Session of the Seventy-Second General Assembly hereby extends heartiest congratulations and commendation Tri-State.

The members of the Colorado Senate are proud to extend our deepest congratulations to Tri-State for announcing the Spanish Peaks Solar Project. The 100-megawatt project will be Tri-State’s largest, most cost-effective solar project to date and allows all Tri-State members to benefit from the favorable pricing economies of scale not typically found in smaller projects. As members of the Colorado State Senate, we commend Tri-State for their investment in Southern Colorado.
