juwi Inc. has established an aggressive target for bringing solar power on line over the next several years and is seeking a Project Engineer to support the company’s growth. juwi Inc. is seeking an experienced professional who has demonstrated experience and excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
FUNCTION:
JUWI is seeking an experienced individual who has knowledge of and experience with the complete engineering design effort of utility-scale solar photovoltaic projects. As a key member of the engineering team, the Sr. Project Engineer will coordinate internal project design deliverables, be responsible for internal CAD processes, and be the primary technical interface for construction activities. The ideal candidate will also have a strong teamwork ethic, knowledge of solar plant construction and a focus on quality. The position will be based in Boulder, CO and will report to VP, Operations.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Sr. Project Engineer’s primary responsibility will be to oversee, perform, and coordinate project design work and assure timely delivery of design documents and products. The Project Engineer will self-perform the work and manage internal and external design engineering scope. This work consists of DC equipment design and specifications, complete projects’ bill of material, project specific construction QA/QC documents, and integration of work products from other team members into the overall engineering package including AutoCAD drawings. The Sr. Project Engineer will be expected to coordinate design meetings, work with in-house engineers, and communicate progress and potential bottlenecks to the applicable project manager. Typical design tasks include project layout drafting, DC equipment sizing and cable calculations, detail drawing drafting, equipment take-offs, and specification writing. The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing the internal design QA/QC process, ensuring complete reviews and corrections from project stakeholders.
The Sr. Project Engineer with the input of the engineering group, will create a work schedule that supports the overall project schedule. The Sr. Project Engineer will attend weekly project meetings and be prepared to address engineering issues. The Sr. Project Engineer will support the procurement process through finalization of specifications, quotation review and approval of the project bill of material. The Sr. Project Engineer will work with systems engineers, vendors, and construction personnel to optimize project designs for cost, quality, maintenance and ease of installation. The Sr. Project Engineer will provide support to the construction site via responses to RFIs, transmittals and informal correspondence.

The Project Developer is responsible for securing land positions, negotiating LOIs and lease/purchase options, the successful development, including entitlement, permitting and environmental compliance, for projects to which he or she is assigned. The Project Developer will establish and manage the development schedule and development budget. During the development phase of a project, the Project Developer will represent the company’s interests in front of authorities having jurisdiction such as city councils, zoning commissions, and planning commissions. In connection with the project financing process, the Project Developer will prepare permitting summaries and will address questions and issues raised by juwi’s customers on these matters. During the construction phase of a project, the Project Developer will ensure compliance with all project permits. The Project Developer will work closely with the Business Development, Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Legal and Finance teams to ensure timely and smooth project development.

juwi has established an aggressive target for bringing solar power on line over the next several years and is seeking a Manager, Systems Engineering to support the company’s growth. juwi is seeking a capable professional who has demonstrated talent in solar utility scale facility modeling, analysis, and design.
FUNCTION:
The Manager, Systems Engineering is responsible for juwi’s initial system design activities including plant generation modeling and high-level system design. The Manager will be involved with projects at the early stage of development and continually contribute refinements as pricing, site feasibility and interconnection design evolve. The Manager will provide technical support during project engineering and construction as needed and evaluate and direct test efforts related to project performance during the operations phase. The Manager is responsible for technical and commercial aspects of generation models and performance guarantees and will suitably defend analysis and supporting assumptions under third party engineer review.
