juwi has established an aggressive target for bringing solar power on line over the next several years and is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to support the company’s growth. juwi is seeking a capable professional who has demonstrated experience in large-scale civil design and consultant management.
FUNCTION:
The Engineer is responsible for leading juwi’s civil design activities including selection of external consulting engineering firms and evaluation of the work performed including land surveying, geotechnical, civil, structural, architectural, and environmental disciplines. The Engineer will support the Engineering Team by developing a set of ready for construction civil design documents. Additionally, the Engineer will be involved with projects at the early stage of development and contribute design refinements as cost estimates and site feasibility evolve. The Engineer will support the Project Development group in site selection, site layouts, construction cost estimates, preliminary site investigations, evaluation of test data and preliminary project due diligence. The Engineer will support the Construction team through the preparation of RFP documents, analysis of subcontractor bids, and selection of subcontractors. Additionally, the Engineer will support the construction phase of all projects and occasionally assist the O&M group when civil design experience becomes necessary at operational facilities.

FUNCTION:
The Project Manager will be responsible for assuring that all steps of development and construction are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Project Manager will be charged with project-level oversight and coordination of the design of electrical, civil, structural and mechanical components of solar projects, along with the oversight of how local, state, federal, utility and landowner constraints are incorporated in the project documents. The Project Manager will provide project information for negotiation of off-take agreements, interconnection agreements, EPC agreements and subcontracts. The ideal candidate is a solution-oriented logistics professional with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, good judgment, and a demonstrated ability to manage transportation, receiving and inventory processes.
FUNCTION:
The Logistics Manager’s key functions are:
• managing other logistics team members,
• sourcing and managing carrier services for juwi’s supply chain,
• arranging the logistics for construction site mobilization and demobilization activities,
• holding equipment suppliers and carriers accountable to their transportation and delivery obligations and troubleshooting issues,
• communicating equipment delivery updates to juwi’s project managers and on-site personnel,
• self-managing inventory and warehousing activities for juwi’s surplus materials, and
• collaborating with relevant juwi departments to integrate logistics with juwi’s procurement, accounting, project management, product engineering and construction activities.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
In addition to the responsibilities listed above, the Logistics Manager will also:
• Negotiate with suppliers and carriers to optimize delivery of materials
• Manage mobilization and demobilization of project sites efficiently and cost effectively
• Create and maintain a spreadsheet-based material delivery schedule for all projects
• Direct inbound logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing activities, safety performance and quality management
• Facilitate customs-related activities, including importation of major equipment from international suppliers
• Develop contingency warehousing plans for storing delivered equipment near project sites in case of construction delays
• Mitigate the effects of logistics variances on construction schedules and budgets and troubleshoot issues in coordination with project management and construction groups
• Create best practices, policies and procedures for all of the company’s logistics activities
• Analyze the financial impact of any proposed logistics changes
• Communicate well with juwi’s procurement, accounting, project management, product engineering and construction groups
• Support procurement activities such as sending out RFQs, generating purchase orders in accounting system, tracking approvals, confirmations, and change orders
• Enforce relevant contractual obligations against suppliers such as delay liquidated damages
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of three years’ experience in logistics management
